On June 7-8 the annual European Development Days will take place in Brussels, bringing together the development community to discuss views and share experiences. As part of this event, on June 7th a Lab-Debate session is organized on the functioning of the African Peace Facility (APF) in its support to the African Peace and Security Architecture.
The APF operates on the nexus of security and development, and since its inception in 2004 has disbursed over two billion euro in pursuit of African Peace and Security. Why is it important for the EU to support Africa's agenda on Peace and Security? And what has the APF achieved?
During the debate, representatives from the European Commission, the European External Action Service, the African Union, ECOWAS and the European Center for Development Policy Management (ECDPM) will discuss the successes, challenges and future prospects of the APF.
The deadline for registration for the EDD's is May 13th, and can be done here.
