Thursday, 16 March, 2017

The African Union Commission (AUC) has launched a design competition for the logo of the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security and Africa (GMES & Africa).

Until April 7th, 2017, African youth is encouraged to submit proposals for original artwork that captures the essence of EO in the context of sustainable development in Africa. The winning design will be awarded a US$ 1000 prize and a letter of recognition by the AUC Chairperson.

The objective of the GMES is improved capacities of African policy-makers and planners to design, implement, and monitor national, regional and continental policies and to promote sustainable management of natural resources through the use of Earth Observation (EO) data and derived information.
